Everything went extremely well! Everyone was so punctual. I was out within 30 minutes. The receptionists was quite pleasant. The medical assistant Chas was very sweet and personable. Dr. Gao was straight to the point with realistic expectations and autonomy. Brittany (I don’t remember her title) but she was awesome too.
This place keeps canceling my appointments without even telling me. It’s almost impossible to reach anybody at the front desk, nobody ever picks up the phone, I never get a call back. And they can’t tell me why they keep canceling my appointment. Nor will they let me rebook for a new appointment. This place is a waste of space and everyone I’ve spoken to on their staff clearly has no empathy or compassion for their patients or people who need care. I’m literally trying to get a biopsy to make sure I don’t have cancer. And at this rate this office is moving I’d probably die before I got in for any type of appointment. If you read this. Go somewhere else. They will not help you here. They do not care. They will blame everything on whatever weight your at whether or small or big. Just read the other recent reviews.
I contacted the Digestive Disease Clinic On October 29, 2023, at approximately 1:30 AM, and left a message for the on-call physician. I was having a severe flair up with my GERD. He called back at 9:23 AM and stated to me that I didn’t have a true emergency, which was fine. He also stated I woke him up for a non emergency situation and he needed to sleep and had rounds in the morning, advised me to contact my doctor during business hours. I didn’t have a problem with him telling me that it was a non emergency call, the problem lies with his attitude, he was extremely rude and didn’t think I was going post this message. I‘m not going to put his name on blast, but sir, please be respectful and professional at alI times. It’s call integrity ! I also apologize for calling for an no emergency situation, wasting his time.He continued to be rude and I reminded respectful until the call ended.
I honestly should’ve read the review before I made an appointment.
DISSAPOINTMENT! I have been seeing Dr. Rodriguez for nearly 10 years for my Crohn’s disease. I recently moved several hours away from Tallahassee and had hoped to continue seeing Dr. Rodriguez. On 3 separate occasions THIS YEAR, I arranged to travel back to Tallahassee and meet with Dr. Rodriguez. Being that I am now several hours away, these appointments do require adequate planning and not to mention the travel cost. None the less, the PROs of continuing with a trusted GI doctor out weighted the burden. So, I thought… Those 3 mentioned appointments were all rescheduled to later dates by the Digestive Disease Clinic. With the newest appointment set to be in January of 2024. Just last week, my specialty pharmacy informed me that my prescription was out, and they had requested a renewal from Digestive Disease Clinic. As of today, I was told by Dr. Rodriguez’s Nurse, I needed to find another GI doctor or drive the several hours back to Tallahassee and meet with Dr. Rodriguez. What is truly disappointing, is the lack of empathy and understanding of the severity of one’s Crohn’s disease. There is obviously a lack of care and a clear disconnect between your staff and your patient. My situation was completely mishandled. Again, my 3 appointments were all rescheduled by your office and now I’m the one who will have to deal with the negative repercussions.
Here’s a legit question for you, why wasn’t this caught when you all decided to, once again, reschedule my October appointment, to January?
It blows my mind that “the only solution we can provide is find another doctor” or put life on hold for the next 2 days and "travel back to Tallahassee". Had I known that this was going to be the outcome, I would’ve been able to find a new doctor and ultimately avoided this headache. Of all people, your office should know scheduling an appointment with a GI doctor typically takes 2-3 months. Guess I’ll just hold tight and pray that me being off my medicine for the next 2 months goes well.
I hope this can be used as a learning experience for the Digestive Disease Clinic Team. In hindsight, it was silly of me to plan on continuing with a GI Doctor that I previously thought, I was more than just a “FILE”. I guess I'll chalk this up on my end as a lesson learned ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Run from this place. I hope to have a fat lawsuit soon. I came to these idiot doctors with an issue. They told me I was crazy basically. And I will put the doctor on blast. Dr Gao. Terrible. And it says in her profile she listens to her patients. I wish. I told these idiots what was wrong with me. They don't listen. Do not come here.
Two polyps were discovered during my colonoscopy although 'small,' weren't removed. I question the logic behind this decision, particularly since I was already anesthetized and via the paperwork, if something was discovered it would be removed. That decision doesn't exactly give me a whole lot of confidence in neither the facility nor the physician.
The staff at the Digestive Disease Clinic and Tallahassee Endoscopy Center were awesome! Everyone was professional and compassionate. Dr. J. Somerset does an outstanding job and has an excellent bedside manner. I cannot thank these establishments enough for the care that was recently provided to my wife.
The Nursing Director (ND) said that I couldn't change doctors. I discussed with her, the ND, the discomfort I had with my last Colonoscopy and she basically said everyone body makeup is different including men. So, there maybe some discomfort. I was able to talk and felt the pain. Long story short,
I would receive a call to change the Facility to TMH because they could administer the appropriate amount of anesthesia. I would receive another call from the Digestive Disease Clinic (DDC) to change the Facility to Capital City Surgery Center. They also changed my procedure schedule 3 times. The last change was the morning of my procedure. DDC called me at 8am to finish the prep at 9am. I got sick after the last dose, however, I was determined with God's help to get through this. Thank God, I did. Capital City Surgery Center staff was great !! Especially Amy. Dr. Rodriguez was wonderful and I felt absolutely no pain. It is with a heavy heart that I had to report a nurse that would deceive a patient.
